Derby Celebrities: Queen To Attend Derby

The sport of kings is getting royal because Queen Elizabeth II has announced that she will attend this year's Kentucky Derby.

It's a tradition for celebrities to party at the Kentucky Derby, while all of the true die-hard partiers go to the infamous infield of Churchill Downs on that first Saturday in May. Notable previous attendees are: Pamela Anderson (that's right, the PETA spokeswoman herself), Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson and many, many more familiar faces.

It's also a tradition for women to wear hats that are oftentimes overly dramatic in their size. That's just what the Kentucky Derby is about: tradition.

Pictured are father and son Bush pair at the Kentucky Derby waving from their seats on the balcony.

I've never been to the Kentucky Derby, but I hope that one day I will be able to stand alongside the celebrities of the day and sing with them "My Old Kentucky Home" as the horses parade on the track.

And this year, the royalty are coming to the Kentucky Derby when Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Phillip, announced that they were going to be coming to the Kentucky Derby this year. Avid fans of the sport of kings, this will be their first time attending the Kentucky Derby.

I can't wait to see their picks; you know they will be asked to make their picks for the Kentucky Derby winner.

It's interesting to see who comes out for this major event. I've been to the Kentucky Derby, though not while the event was taking place..I think it would be cool to watch. I like all the pictures you have. Keep up the good work!
