My favorite horse racing moments

Through the years, I have been able to decide some of my favorite moments of horse racing. These are a few of them, good and bad.

Many people know that Affirmed was the last horse to win the Triple Crown. What some don't know is the facts about his great rivalry with Alydar. They met a total of six times as two-year-olds, but they are famous for their rivalry throughout the Triple Crown series. Their most notable moment was in the Belmont. You can watch that below.

Next on my list of great moments would have to be the great filly champion Ruffian and her entire life. A dazzling filly to look at, she was undefeated until her final start in a match race against the top colt of her age, Foolish Pleasure, where she broke down and was euthanized the next day. A complete bull of a filly, she remains one of the top race horses, despite her short career on the track.

Another great moment was when Secretariat won the Belmont, becoming a Triple Crown winner. He won the Belmont by a whopping 31 lengths! Watch it below.

Again, this is just a few moments in history that stick out in my mind. To see a good list of them, visit the website Famous Race Horses.
